Henry and Effie Osborn

Today, Harry told Effie that he didn’t think they would argue because they knew each other so well already. But, he still tried to correct her impression of his feeling about the pen wiper she had made him and wondered about the compliment she had received but wouldn’t tell him about for fear of seeming conceited.

“O my darling who wouldn’t give up luxuries & self indulgences for such a life as this.” Osborn, Henry 1884-10-11
