Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Harry had fought off the “blue dog” all morning but still wrote a letter full of complaint. He had not received a letter from Effie but gotten one from Sue that was “scrappy.” Also, he was concerned about how he and Effie would be treated by his family when he was back East next summer.

“I believe that you are worthy of a man whom you can trust & rely on intellectually to guide you but more than this that you are worthy of a place at his side where you can influence people for their good & elevation.” Osborn, Henry 1884-12-7
