Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie chided Harry for being unjustly angry about her letters. She also wrote of seeing “Les Huguenots,” an opera by Giacomo Meyerbeer, and asked him to explain the dates in his reminiscence.

Harry, of course, reiterated his need and provided familial characteristics to explain it.

“If anyone should get hold of these dates and also the number of pages in each note, you would be suspected of slinging sarcasm around loose.” Osborn, Effie 1885-1-10

“You know I dont blame folks for not being enthusiastic about your engagement when they don’t know me especially.” Osborn, Henry 1885-1-10
