Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie had time for only a short note today. It appears that the travelers were then riding on the Virginia Midland Air Line Railroad. Although that name may seem odd to us, prior to air travel, according to Wikipedia, an air line was “a railroad that was relatively flat and straight, choosing a shorter route over an easier route.”

“Had only 5 minutes to pack.” Osborn, Effie 1885-1-20
