Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Harry wrote a newsy letter today, recounting a “call” and the latest action by Indiana’s legislature on Purdue’s behalf.

Among other topics, Effie’s letter recounts the affect her father’s death had on the family’s finances and gives news that doesn’t bode well for the family of her late cousin Minnie. Effie also enclosed a copy of the letter Cousin Gus had written to her mother.

“I think it is I who bring the evil luck & that you have never had so much to endure.” Osborn, Henry 1885-3-28

I am not careless.” Osborn, Effie 1885-3-28
