Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

With the question of boarding houses settled, Effie’s life was quieter and Mr. Cohen had promised to make sure that Cousin Gus made good on her mother’s financial loss. Harry continued to respond to the now resolved crisis and described a concert that he had attended.

“…[W]e are two hundred dollars better off on this house than we were last year, in spite of the $400. waste. Osborn, Effie 1885-4-16

“I should like very well for her to give up every occupation for the summer & do some resting.” Osborn, Henry 1885-4-16
