Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie’s letter brought news of a new calamity: her mother was seriously ill. Harry wrote in response to Mr. Cohen’s offer to Effie and he confirmed that he’d like a job on the West Coast.

“I got your grey hair and might have sent you a dozen, or more of mine, as white as sh snow.” Osborn, Effie 1885-4-29

“…I should be proud to marry you in the clothes you have on at this moment.” Osborn, Henry 1885-4-29
