Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie’s letter today was brief but happy; they would be together next month and her mother was better.

Not knowing of Emily Loag’s improved health, Harry wrote that he could be there in 26 hours, if Effie would telegraph him immediately if it became the worst possible case. He also let her know that he had written to his sister Sue to ask her or their sister Mag to go to New York to help out.

“You must tear yourself away the first possible moment. Let Barnes finish up a little of your work for you.” Osborn, Effie 1885-5-1

“But Mr Cohen is right I do believe & the true way for a really & truly married couple to do is to begin together & have all the fun of the first struggle together.” Osborn, Henry 1885-5-1
