Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie sent a telegram to let Harry know of the delay of a letter but it was unclear to him exactly which letter she meant. He continued to fluctuate between hope and worry.

“Sunday letter delayed.” Osborn, Effie 1885-5-5

“Darling I felt sick & faint & could hardly walk over to the telephone.” Osborn, Henry 1885-5-5a

“My trial is nothing compared with yours now that to the mental worry you have added as much physical fatigue.” Osborn, Henry 1885-5-5b
