Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Having written and torn up a letter before starting this one, Harry felt that he no longer wrote well. That is apparent in this letter, where at times he was a bit incoherent. It is also clear that he hadn’t read some of Effie’s letters carefully.

“After the marriage we are a unit & act & think & feel as a unit & there must & can never be any division but before we determine to unite & when we have got to consider the whole thing from a selfish standpoint & I must not attempt to work upon your feelings while you are deciding.” Osborn, Henry 1885-5-21
