Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie wrote a “scrap” today, which let Harry know about the latest letter from Cousin Gus and the decamping of two of the boarding house residents.

Harry’s letter was only a little longer and contained news about Purdue’s community, including the visit of about 175 members of the Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society and the possible departure of Miss Weed.

“My eyes were too sore last night for me to use them, and I found it wouldn’t do.” Osborn, Effie 1885-5-22

“I am not mentally tired but I am spiritually played out.” Osborn, Henry 1885-5-22
