Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie continued to write about her mother’s lodgers, and not kindly. The yacht race she mentioned was the America’s Cup. Mrs. Jarley and her waxworks appear in Charles Dicken’s The Old Curiosity Shop.

Harry’s letter was just a note that he sent with a number of items.

“It is almost as pretty as some of Mrs. Jarley’s wax works.” Osborn, Effie 1885-9-11

“I send this in the express package.” Osborn, Henry 1885-9-11
