Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie’s first letter today was a short one that recounted a visit with the Cohens and a search for soap. In the second, she gave Harry some family news and told him about the loss of a pupil.

Harry’s letter started out rather gloomy but was interrupted by some excitement on campus.

“I’ll expect great things of you & Huston, and you’ll have to give a concert for me when I go out.” Osborn, Effie 1885-10-22a

“I know you like to be “called names,” and the more I do it, the better you like it, so darling “take another.”” Osborn, Effie 1885-10-22b

“I went over there & they were blowing horns & dancing in the halls & having a high time.” Osborn, Henry 1885-10-22
