Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie had received an enthusiastic welcome by Harry’s family at Thanksgiving. She wrote, as well, about two concerns: Harry’s trip home at Christmas and the $150 that he owed her.

Harry’s letter presents a bit of a puzzle. Although it is dated the 26th, the contents lead one to the conclusion that it was written on the 25th.

“Every thing reminds me of last summer, & tho’ the memories are very sweet, yet it makes me long so to have it all over again.” Osborn, Effie 1885-11-26

“We had a very nice time at Warders.” Osborn, Henry 1885-11-26
