Henry and Effie Osborn
Harry wrote that classes had been cancelled because of the the funeral of Vice President Hendricks and that he intended to go to it. Mrs. Talbott was probably Lida Hood Talbott, who appears to have been a comedic performer.
Effie had caught the blues from Harry and she felt that he still didn’t truly believe in her love. Her second letter was slightly more upbeat and addressed his family’s plan for her to have clothes made by a dressmaker in Madison and her intention to go to a lecture on “Wagner & his school.”
