Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

In her first letter, Effie wrote again about plans for Harry’s vacation. In the second, she revealed that she’d had another set-to with her mother and that she’d given up on completing Harry’s Christmas present in time.

Harry’s brief letter touched on Miss Weed’s health and whether he would be at Purdue for another year.

“Our only cloud must be the tho’t of separation, and if we are not happy at Madison we wont stay.” Osborn, Effie 1885-12-7a

“I fear war will break out again.” Osborn, Effie 1885-12-7b

“I don’t feel like writing.” Osborn, Henry 1885-12-7
