Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Although she wrote mostly about mail collection, Effie found time to tell Harry that his family felt bad about his board.

Harry was fighting off the blues again. However, he did have a rabbit dinner to look forward to and he was proud of his ability to squash the students’ tendency toward rowdiness. We also hear of Miss Jones, the modern languages teacher, for the first time.

“Oh Harry I had such a lovely visit at Madison.” Osborn, Effie 1886-2-2

“I don’t know what causes it[,] certainly not my muscle which would not be equal to that of some hoosiers I have to sit on.” Osborn, Henry 1886-2-2
