Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie’s letter was short because of Harry’s mother’s visit. The two important items were her refusal of his father’s help with the upcoming move and her correction of Harry’s understanding of her idea to take over the board responsibilities at Purdue.

Harry’s letter was mostly about the inadequacy of letters.

“I have stacks & stacks to tell you but will have to put off most of the things till my Sunday letter.” Osborn, Effie 1886-4-7

“Darling you dont answer my letters very fully.” Osborn, Henry 1886-4-7
