Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Effie was even more busy with preparation for moving. She had more hope that the process would go smoothly because the attitude of the current tenant had changed.

Harry’s first letter was devoted to their current misunderstanding. In the second, he wrote about fabric, Fasciolaria, wedding presents and their plans when he was back in the East.

“The 1st of May is close upon us, and business is decidedly lively.” Osborn, Effie 1886-4-28

“Darling I feel that I have far more than I deserve now and I only wonder that we can get along as well as we have since Christmas.” Osborn, Henry 1886-4-28a

“That little girl is a trump to do such a thing & I hope as you do that every present will come as straight from the heart as that one did.” Osborn, Henry 1886-4-28b
