Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Harry devoted most of his first letter to the subject of wedding invitations vs announcements. He also wrote of being disappointed in Bill Nye (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgar_Wilson_Nye) but enjoying the Hoosier Poet (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Whitcomb_Riley). His second letter was mostly about Pierre Van Landeghem, Purdue’s florist and landscape gardner.

“I should not have the least scruples Darling about interfering with your old dressmaking and if I could only get to you I would do it if you had to have a dress less in consequence.” Osborn, Henry 1886-5-12a

“I am going to see about renting & provisioning an ark soon unless we have a change.” Osborn, Henry 1886-5-12b
