Henry and Effie Osborn at home

Henry and Effie Osborn

Harry wrote about the possible extravagance of Effie’s wedding dress and then doubted the wisdom of telling her his thoughts.

“As for the white[,] it will be lovely for your wedding dress & if you feel that you can afford the luxury of a dress for the occasion (for Darling I have told you several times your getting a white dress will amount to that) then it will be lovely to have the satin & it can be turned to account afterward.” Osborn, Henry 1886-5-14
